The podcast, Stuff You Missed in History Class is a great resource for history educators because it is created, written and hosted by two historians who cover a wide range of historical topics and agents. Both hosts do an incredible job of remaining as unbiased and neutral as they can when covering multiple topics. A podcast like this one is an advantage because its credible information. The hosts are historians and history teachers can feel at ease about the accuracy/ trust of sources they use. Students can also aspire to write similarly to how they present historical information. The episode, "The Occupation of Alcatraz part 1" briefly retells the history of U.S policies towards Native Americans from the colonial period to the early 1960's. This episode can be integrated into a lesson surrounding manifest destiny/ early U.S expansion as it covers pivotal policies like the 1887 Dawes Act. Students can also loop back to this episode when discussing the civil rights era as one of the main focuses is the Native American resistance movement known as the occupation of Alcatraz.
